Want to get involved in PTA but not sure what positions are open or what the roles are? The following positions are open for the 2016-2017 school year.  Contact Sara Easton at sara_easton@yahoo.com for questions or to volunteer. 
Marcus Carnival Chair
Organize and staff a booth to represent BES at the Marcus carnival. The carnival is the week of homecoming in September…date TBD

Solicit sponsors to support our school by advertising in our school directory and during the fall Tailgate Throwdown. This role is finished by mid November.

Community Services
Organize ways that our school can help others in the community. This role is done through out the year.

Lunchroom Volunteers
Oversee volunteers that help during Kindergarten and 1st grade lunches. Volunteers will sign up online and along with a teacher will help students open cartons and other basic needs. Kindergarten has helpers all year and 1st grade only has volunteers for a couple of months.

Technology Liaison (PTA Website)
Responsible for the Bridlewood PTA website and can be done from home through out the year. Content will be provided from various committee chairs to keep the website current.

Directory Editor 
Gather information for the Bridlewood Directory and take to the printer for proofing and printing. You will work closely with Ways & Means who will provide the advertisers, school office and PTA membership. Directory is published in late-October/early-November. Work can be done from home.

Organize and promote this program where “dads” volunteer during the school day helping out in the classroom, lunchroom, recess and anywhere else you are needed.

Environmental Chair
Help encourage our students to go green! Come up with ideas to help our school the think more about the environment.

Destination Imagination
Destination Imagination is a problem solving educational organization that strives to promote creativity in young people. Help lead children in science, technology, engineering, math, arts & community service.


Please consider volunteering or donating to the LISD Back to School Fair.  This event, July 30, will provide approximately 3500 LISD students with backpacks and school supplies, haircuts, vision screenings, needed immunizations, and athletic physicals. We will also connect families with social service and community agencies that serve a variety of needs.  This is a large undertaking that will require an army of volunteers and donations.

  • $2500 Author visit & book signing with the amazing Drew Dewalt
  • $5000 field trip fees for all grade levels
  • $800 New playground equipment
  • $2500 Water dispensors installed to cleanly refill kids water bottles at school
  • $3500 BES Teacher grant money for enrichment & classroom improvements
  • $1000 S.T.E.A.M Lab grant
  • $2500 Installation of a chicken coop & outdoor learning classroom enhancements
  • $5000 BES donation for training & enhancing curriculum

 This year the PTA is asking for a $50/per child donation so that we can continue to offer all the amazing school programs, extra enrichment opportunities, field trips, classroom parties, family activities and teacher/staff appreciation days.

-- Spirit Wear

Show off your Bridlewood Spirit by purchasing Spirit Wear T-Shirts for the whole family. Car decals and yard signs are available this year to show off your spirit at home or on the go. Want to sparkle? Custom shirts can be ordered to include bling and glitter when you order directly from Big Frog (extended sizes available too). All styles can be purchased online thru the Big Frog website.


 -- Bridlewood Birthday Books

Introducing the NEW BIRTHDAY BOOKS program at BES!  This is an optional way to celebrate your child's special day.  Simply go pick out a book to purchase from this link to donate to our school library.  Your child's name will appear in the cover of the book recognizing that the book was gifted in their honor.  Your child will also be recognized for their birthday book donation.  Thank you for considering this great program!

Volunteer Opportunities at BES


There are endless opportunities to volunteer at Bridlewood. Here are several that we need all year!

  • Be the Bronco -- Show your school spirit!!  We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to wear the Bronco costume at various events throughout the school year.  When we have a need, we will reach out to our group of volunteers to see who may be available.  Click here to volunteer!   Questions?   • Classroom Photographers Wanted -- Like taking pictures of your kiddos? How about use your skills and volunteer for your homeroom teacher to take pictures throughout the year! Pictures are needed at classroom parties, field trips, music performances, lunch, recess, after school enrichment activities, or any other school related events. These pictures help fill our yearbook each year and create a beautiful keepsake for all to cherish! Please contact Heather Curlett for more information or to sign up here! (hcurlett@hotmail.com)

  • Morning Mile Volunteers -- Need several volunteers who can commit to one day every week. Set up cones, hand out tallies, and write down laps. Contact Rikki Boehmer (erica.boehmer@gmx.de) or click here to select a day to volunteer.
